Application Engineer and Cosmetics Expert

Location: Oakville, Ontario, Canada

Employment Type: Full-Time (32 hours per week)

Salary: CAD $36.06 per hour, equivalent to an annual salary of CAD $60,000

 

Job Description:

Morouge Canada Inc., a growing company specializing in soap and cosmetics supplies, is expanding its operations to include finished products. We are seeking an experienced Application Engineer and Cosmetics Expert to join our team. This role blends expertise in cosmetics formulation with application engineering to drive product innovation and optimize production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Soap and Cosmetics Formulation:

  • Develop and refine formulations for soaps and cosmetics, ensuring high quality and compliance with industry standards.

External Production Oversight:

  • Coordinate with third-party production facilities to ensure that manufacturing processes align with our quality standards and specifications.

Application Engineering:

  • Apply engineering principles to oversee and optimize production processes at external facilities, addressing any issues and implementing improvements.

Process Optimization:

  • Analyze and enhance manufacturing processes at partner facilities to improve efficiency, product consistency, and overall performance.

Technical Support:

  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to external production partners.

Product Development:

  • Collaborate with the product development team to introduce new products and refine existing ones.

Training and Documentation:

  • Develop detailed documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for external production facilities. Train partner staff to ensure adherence to quality standards.

Transition Plan:

Year 1:

  • Focus on developing and refining product formulations and establishing relationships with external production facilities. Set clear quality standards and processes for partner facilities.

Year 2:

  • Transition to managing and overseeing production at external facilities. Mentor Canadian staff, building internal capabilities for future production needs. Develop a plan to establish an in-house production facility.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial, or Manufacturing preferred).
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in cosmetics formulation and application engineering.
  • Proven expertise in managing production facilities and optimizing manufacturing processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with external partners.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience in training and developing process documentation.
